Nothing in the world like chasing the setting sun.

Nothing in the world like chasing the setting sun.

On the journey of life, it is important to enjoy a sunrise of sunset. It can be a peaceful moment to be thankful for the day.

When I was a young man, I shared a sunset with an older gentleman that changed my life.
We were busy taking care of our business together, when he stops everything and starts staring at the setting sun. He did not say anything to me and kept staring. I went to check on him to make sure he was not having a medical moment, when he says, “come here.”

When I stood next to him, he says: “When my age you never know how many sunsets you have left. Each one is different in its own way, but each one will bring you beauty so long as you take a moment to enjoy it.”

That was all he said and returned to the sunset; we took a couple of minutes to stand shoulder to shoulder not saying another word.

When it was over we both just smiled at each other and moved on back to our business.
To this day, I cannot remember his name, but that moment has lasted in my mind for years.

PS.
Over the past forty-eight hours I have put my energy into all the things that bring me peace and I have disconnected from anything that will bring down my vibration.
Every so often I would “check my phone” to ensure that I was not needed in any capacity. As soon as I seen everything was good and I was not needed, I would turn the phone black and place it in a space that I was unable to reach out of habit.
The first twenty-four hours it was hard not to pick up, but after a while I could feel the disconnection.
Changing a habit is always a struggle, but if anything is bringing you down and blocking your peace it is important to disconnect and find your center so you’re not absorbing energy that is detrimental to your health.
