A waterfall is only as beautiful as each water drop that creates the flow.
Each of us has a river of energy that flows through our body. How we choose to use that energy is a personal choice and a reflection of factors that make who we are at this moment in time.
Our river of energy starts at birth and the people who are responsible for our growth will connect their river of knowledge to ours and flow into how they view that world and their environment.
These “opinions” from others shape our views on how we now perceive the world without sharing the context on how this opinion was formed.
When I was a child, my grandfather said something to me that I still feel today, but as an energy healer these words bring a chill to my spine today more than they did when I was a child.
During one Thanksgiving gathering my grandfather was sitting at the kitchen table talking about his view of the world to the other adults. As I was running around looking for my cousins, he stopped me on my way out of the back door. He says to me “I wouldn’t want to be growing up in your generation.” Not sure what he is talking about, I ask him why? (In my mind we are having a wonderful day together with the family, the food smells great, and I have cousins around to play games and have fun.) He looks me in the eyes and says, “the reason is you don’t know who you are going to be fighting against.”
At the time I was under the age of ten and the only fighting that took place in my life was with my sister.
His opinion had no effect on my life, but his words carried with me to this day. Now looking back, I can see his perspective, but his generational trauma had no effect on the way I was going to live my life. To his point, he was in WWII and his father was also in the military (I am not sure if he fought any wars,) so all he ever experienced was fighting and war.
From my perspective as a child, I did not know I had so many enemies. Who wants to fight a small child in a large city? It was not until much later in my life did the pieces connected and his words started to play out with a couple of my high school friends heading off to war only to return home to be honored through a memorial service.
Today, as an energy healer and seeing generational trauma play out day after day, it is hard to view. Knowing why something is taking place only adds to my frustration.
ONE day I hope people can see past imaginary lines and find peace within themselves. But until that takes place, find the peace and love within yourself and share it with the others you interact with daily.
Each of us can change the world, so long as we believe in ourselves and not the generational trauma that has been passed down by those who shaped our existence.
