HOPE
American Cancer Society, March Photo Challenge #9
After a two-day disconnect from reality, I wanted to see what was taking place in the world. After a couple scrolls down the news feed, the only word that comes to my mind is: HOPE.
(“Remember that hope is a good thing, Red, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” – Andy Dufresne from Shawshank Redemption)
Although I love quotes, I will rarely share them with you in my journals. But there is a reason for this one, even though I do not understand why at this moment in time. I do not think everything needs an explanation, and I only write how I feel in the moment. If this connects with you, that could be the reason it is not connecting with me at this time.
When I passed this rock the only thing that caught my eye was the ray of light. One small ray that shined down on a rock was not something I am used to seeing so I thought I would figure out what was causing this experience. As I walked back around the rock, I could see the ray of light focused on this tiny succulent.
After a couple of minutes of staring in disbelief, I captured this picture.
What came into my mind when I took this picture was all the factors that had to come before me to experience this moment in time. With a tough environment for sustainable growth and the only nutrients available are from a rock. It almost feels like this picture should not exist.
When we shine bright others notice. If it were not for a single ray of light this moment would not be part of my journey.
I hope your Monday goes smoother than this journal entry.
