We often perceive a person from our current moment in time; ONE small glimpse of a whole journey that becomes our basis for how we view this person’s “success.”
“Success” is subjective to every person on earth; people can chase fame and fortune, and others chase Love and peace. Each has its benefits and a perceived outcome from the person experiencing their journey.
What if we never truly get to experience our “success,” does this make us failures?
My personal perception is that our experience on earth is a long series of highs and lows that are meant to determine who a person is on a soul level. Each High and Low becomes the baseline of a person’s soul and how you manage your experience determines what you are meant to receive from the universe.
How you act when you have it all versus when you have nothing becomes the essence of who you are on the soul level. (I use the word “soul” because it is the most human word that we use to describe what is driving our human experience, but I like to think of this as our human aura. I am going to keep using the word “soul” but keep in mind that I am speaking to the human aura.)
This is the duality of life on earth; Above and Below, Right and Wrong, Light and Dark.
Now, think back to the greatest moment in your life. —

The greatest moment in my life is based on experience and Love. ONE morning that changed my earthly existence and allowed me the ability to heal others. A gift that poured in from the universe and my most treasured human experience.
At the time of receiving the ability to heal, Rebecca and I were struggling to survive our current moment, and we were living on one small paycheck at a time. Rebecca is the sole income provider and if she lost the ability to work, we would have been stranded in Virginia Beach with no escape other than a small retirement savings account.
Over the course of a couple of weeks prior to my greatest moment, Rebecca started to experience cluster headaches around her left eye; this made it difficult for her to see and think.
This moment was our Below moment. When everything was going wrong and it was hard to keep faith in what I was going through to become the person I am today. Although we were not thrilled with our Below moment, we never let it show. Just because life was kicking us in the teeth, we did not let it change who we were on a soul level.
This “moment” in time would not define the journey. Instead, it propelled us to take accountability for who we were and what we need to endure to reach our current moment in time.
Once I was given the light from the universe, I healed Rebeccas’ eye. (You can read Rebeccas account of this experience on the blog.) This did not change our life instantly but the relief I offered her changed her ability to improve her career. Rebecca was able to view her current situation with a clear head and within a month, she received a promotion through hard work and determination.
This was our defining moment. If we had become bitter about our situation, I would not be able to share my experiences with you. This was my test from the universe. ONE I humbly passed through being thankful for all the tiny things in our life, health, happiness, peace, and love.
A Lightworker must live ego free. When you remove the ego, every experience in our life becomes a gift even if things are not going exactly how you thought. The question to ask is, what is the universe trying to tell me? Once you understand that there are no coincidences in our experience, the vail lifts and each high and low is a lesson you need to learn in your lifetime.
Not long after I received the light of the universe, covid19 started. Lockdown was our chance to heal individually and as a couple. As the pandemic was ending so did our situation. We moved from Virginia Beach to Hickory, North Carolina.
We moved into a modest apartment so I could keep the light shining through my life, and develop the skills needed to write my journal entries. We still live off a single paycheck but were making the best of the struggle.
After we got settled into our new apartment, our life improved and Rebecca was offered a position with a new company. While this improvement was great for our journey, the cost of living doubled, and our modest apartment rent payment went up close to six hundred dollars. We tried to buy a house during this time, but so did everyone else. This forced us to move to another modest apartment a couple of towns away.
Another test from the universe. Again, Rebecca and I would not let one moment define our journey. We used this year to focus on improving our credit score and saving a bigger down payment to buy the house we currently reside in. This year was not an easy year for us, and we relied heavily on connections with friends.
Without this experience I would not have connected with Benn, a soul that helped me heal me through friendship. After experiencing sudden loss to my best friend years before, life for me was a lonely time. Of course I have Rebecca. She is my soul connection and wife, but as humans we need relationships that balance our existence.
A friend who does not judge you but will laugh or cry with you because of the connection and nothing else. When you live with someone, every experience is a shared experience and when you are on lockdown due to a global pandemic this only magnifies a situation.
When you compile all of these “moments” and review the experiences we encountered, life for us was not “Lucky.” Sure, things are going well for us at this moment in time, but even if this moment does not last, we are going to continue to be good people who choose Love and Peace in the moment, in the end we only have this ONE moment in time.
Possessions, careers, and health will come and go like the ocean tide; what you have now could disappear in an instant. Each aspect of life is the balancing act of our existence.
When you cultivate a world that is built around Love, the outcome is irrelevant to the journey. You will experience the “highs and lows” as just another moment to learn and grow.
I do not believe we ever fail as humans. Humans are built to be imperfect; it is what we do with our imperfections that defines who we are and where we are going.
I know my journal entries are not perfect, but if you had asked me one year ago to write a journal entry like the one I am doing now, I would have frozen up, and my perfectionism would have taken over. The experience I wanted to share with you would stay in my notebook, never to be read by anyone.
Building something from nothing, it always starts with Love but takes years of perseverance and hard work to master the craft. I do not believe I have luck in my life, but I carry faith in the universe, and my messages will find a person when they need to hear it.
Even as a child I was told our last name holds a black cloud over our family. This is only true if you believe it to be true. I never felt this way, but it did keep me from playing the lottery or dice games at the casino. (Always find the positive aspect of your situation and keep your faith. You become what you believe.)
At any moment, your stars can change. If you are willing to do the challenging work to determine who you need to be in this lifetime. Your dreams of fame and fortune, or Love and peace will be delivered through the universe when the time is right for you to receive the blessings.
It is important to show Love to yourself and to the universe, so that whenever that “moment” shows up, you will manage with grace and Love, so it does not fade away as fast as you received it.
When we choose to LOVE all the Highs and Lows of our human experience, we create a world that people will call “LUCKY.” But to anyone who has experienced a journey like mine, we would all agree that it comes from working Hard Work and having faith in the universe.
